......almost complete!
All of these projects of ours in some way, shape, or form are preparing our home for our little Brooke to enter it. We are having a blast working on all of these things. Here are some of our works in progress!
Little Brooke's room is now painted and the chair rail hung. We still need to putty the nail holes on the chair rail, caulk the chair rail against the wall and the corners, and re paint the chair rail. Then decorate her room which I CAN'T wait to do! But YEAH!!! And thanks to Grandpa Carlson for coming up and helping us hang that chair rail, you and Kip got that done SO FAST!!! I wanted to get a picture but they did it so fast I was not able to! (the color looks even better in person)
Our downstairs closet that Kip expanded. It is almost done! Kip and Grandpa Carlson were going to finish the baseboards in there but ran out of supplies so that just needs to be finish, a light installed, and some paint on the walls. Then I am going to get some organization bins for the stuff in there so we can make good use of the space. We are going to use this closet for food storage, toy storage, blanket storage, cleaning supply storage, downstairs diaper's and wipes, and what not's and what have you's but it is going to be TOTALLY organized when I am done with it!
This is the material for little Brooke's infant car seat blanket that I am going to make. The car seat is a baby blue (since I am getting everything uni-sex) so I HAD to make it girlie and tie in the baby blue still. So the patterned material is going to be the outside of the blanket, the pink is going to be the inside of the blanket and the blue is the ruffle around the edges. I just finished the ruffle yesterday. My friends say that is the hardest part and it is DONE so I can't wait to finish the rest!!!
This is the material for a little patchwork blanket that I am going to make for Brooke as well. Grandma Carlson helped me cut out all of the squares and make little sandwiches of material and batting today while the boys were hanging the chair rail and doing the baseboards. I am SO, SO, SO, excited to see how this turns out. (Why doesn't light pink show up good in my pictures??)
This project is totally intimidating to me, I need to go through and organize all of the stuff I have for Brooke and her room! YIKES!!!I can't stand piles, clutter, and messes so this needs to be gone through SOON!!!
So yeah, we have a few things going on here and there :) I will post the finished products FOR SURE when they are done, hopefully sooner than later! Wish me luck!!!

The room is going to be so cute! Good job on the ruffle, you got back into sewing pretty fast! ;) Excited to help you finish it, it is going to be SO CUTE - I LOVE the material you got!
The room looks adorable with the pink and the chair rail...amazing what a chair rail can do to dress a room up. And what a great mommy for all those blankets your making. My children are deprived...their mommy doesn't make that sort of stuff :) Maybe their Auntie can some day.
How Fun! Good for you for making Brook some special hand made item's from Mommy. Those are always the most special!
Wow, everything is coming together. You have really cute taste and great ideas! I hope you enjoy your Mother's Day!
Everything is coming together so cute! Cant wait to see the finished products!
The rooms looks great !
Even though I know you hate the "mess", if I were you, I'd wait until after Sunday's shower and organize it all at once.
Love you & can't wait to see the final pics !
wow you are ambitious! I love the fabric you chose - very very cute! I'm sure she will be one stylin' little girl! Good luck on the homestretch - can't believe you are due so soon!
