Shoes Required!

A very sad thing happened the other night!
Kip went outside to take the trashcans to the curb and he (thank goodness) found a little UN-friend sitting on the fence! The reason I say thank goodness is he could have been hurt by the UN-friend if he did not see it. Kip is quite upset with his find, because this now changes our feelings on walking outside without shoes. We thought that now that we have a patio we could enjoy camping outside, sleeping under the stars, all sorts of fun night time activities, but now we are freaked out!!!

That's right, my husband caught a Scorpion. Are those supposed to be in Southern California??? Especially my backyard? I thought they belonged in Arizona and Nevada but my backyard??? NO!!!! So we are now freaked out! Those things are so creepy looking and Kip says they are built for battle. He did so many things to kill that scorpion and it was still hanging in there. He finally stomped on it and squished it. But Kip warns, they are really fast!
All of my neighbors out there in Rosetta Canyon and Lake Elsinore Land, WATCH OUT!!! They are around here, and they are danger!
EEEeeekkkkssss!!!!!

I haven't even found one of those here in AZ! (Knock on wood!) And they are tough to kill! The pest control company says that the best way to keep scorpions out is to have a CAT! They're the only ones fast enough to actually KILL them! Needless to say, our 2 cats are sticking around (and maybe that's why we haven't seen any scorpions!)

Oh my goodness! When we lived in New Mexico Matthew came within inches of stepping on one in our apartment kitchen! We were totally freaked out too and I couldn't sleep at night thinking there was another one in my house! I know exactly how you feel!!

We drounded ours with bug spray and then trapped it in a jar with a lid. It eventually died and now sits on Matthew's office shelf in the little jar we caught it in!

Yep they are in So Cal. We used to catch them in our backyard all the time. We would put them in jars and shake them up a few 100 times a day. The suckers just don't die very easily. Am I going to bug hell for trying to torture the scorpian?!?

I hate scorpions! I think I would run like a baby if I found one. My friend asked me the other day if I wanted to go snake hunting. I said HELL NO...I don't even like finding 'em by accident. Love the blog! Mine is stupid, but check it out... electricskull.blogspot.com It'll get better, I'm still trying to figure it out. Just got used to myspace! Hugz all around!!!
