Well you all are due for an update of our little pup and how his ears are progressing! He looks real cute! Ok so seriously he looks silly but we love him anyway and I still have no shame taking him on walks and jogs. People laugh and I like telling myself that they are laughing at the dog and not me, who knows?
His ears are totally healed and no longer have any open wounds. He is not in any pain at all just a little annoyed by the antlers but otherwise he is a very happy little man! We keep telling him that this is for his own good and that he will thank us some day when he looks so handsome and stunning. At this point in his life I really don't think he cares about his looks. Maybe when he is a teen pup and starts trying to impress the ladies he will see the service we are doing for him right now! We sure hope so :)
A lot of people are asking how long we need to have his ears taped?
We have to have the tape on for 6 days and off for 1, basically until they decide to stand on their own. They say that with the length we had them cut it could take up to 6 months. Yeah, NO FUN!!! But he is worth the work!
Do you like how one of his ear's is higher than the other?? Yeah Kip and I are new at this. Funny fact, there are tampons in his ears holding them up. That is what we wrap the ears around to give them their shape and to keep them standing. I very much respect that this little man has no shame prancing around with tampons in his ears. How many men can handle that??
